Personal Information

  • Positon: Director, Dispute Resolution
  • Email: darrell.low@adjlaw.com.sg

Darrell is a Director of Arthur, Darrell & Jing LLC in its Dispute Resolution department. He has been an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore since 2006 and a Solicitor of England and Wales since 2008.

He has argued trials, applications and appeals at every level of the Singapore courts, in civil and criminal matters, and appears in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations. He also sits as sole arbitrator in ICC references. His practice covers commercial and civil disputes, restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy, construction, leasing and tenancy, employment, intellectual property, and contentious private wealth and succession work. His clients are multinational and listed companies, foreign and Singapore law firms, and high net worth individuals.

Much of his standing rests on work done for the profession rather than for clients. He is Principal Examiner at the Singapore Institute of Legal Education and Co Vice-Chairperson of the Law Society’s Advocacy Committee, sits on its Admissions Committee and Inquiry Panel, and is a member of the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Committee. He is a Contributing Editor of Singapore Civil Procedure. He previously convened the Law Society’s Practice Training Advocacy Course and tutored Trial Advocacy and International Commercial Arbitration at the National University of Singapore, and has run advocacy training in Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Scotland and South Africa.

The practical effect for a client is that he runs his own matters rather than supervising them from a distance. The person who knows the file is the person who answers the phone.
