Xenia has been an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore since 2019. She works on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, on corporate advisory and restructuring, and on commercial contracts and investment documentation.

Her clients are mainly privately held and owner-managed businesses, founders and growth companies, fund managers and trust companies, and overseas businesses setting up or investing through Singapore. Most of them need a transaction done and then need someone to call about the consequences of it, which is a different kind of relationship from a one-off deal.

She starts from how a transaction is meant to work in practice rather than from a precedent, and drafts to the points that are commercially material. A longer agreement is not a safer one, and complexity that serves no purpose has a cost of its own at completion and afterwards. On a transaction she will usually run the matter herself from due diligence and structuring through negotiation and completion, including coordinating the other advisers.

In 2025 she completed a Specialist Diploma in Accounting and Finance, a less conventional turn for a corporate lawyer. It means she can read the numbers in a due diligence exercise herself before deciding whether anyone else needs to.

Outside the Office

Xenia enjoys reading on philosophy, economics, and the various questions that make up everyday life. She also watches a great deal of horror and maintains that this says nothing whatsoever about her view of the human condition. She has recently taken up golf and is at the stage of being honest about her scores.
